WHAT I THOUGHT

For me, I have always had a desire to understand the deeper meaning of worship and how it really fits in my life. Derek Prince, in his book “Entering The Presence Of God”, does an inspired job of relating the truth of the scriptures to the reader. Prince uses the Old Testament covenant between God and the Israelite people to show His character and the importance of true worship. He illuminates the worship of the tabernacle, specifically relating the entering of the High Priest into God’s presence to the miraculous work of Jesus’ death and resurrection.  When we understand God’s presence today and the true meaning of worship as revealed in the whole of scripture, we are then able to apply them to our lives.

As a worship leader, I found this to be a must read. It has helped me to understand what God has established regarding worship. It has inspired me to continue studying the scriptures to go even deeper in my understanding. This book has also been influential in teaching my worship team members how to enter into worship personally to better lead God’s people corporately. Personally, I have seen my team gain a better understanding of worship while getting me even more excited to experience God’s presence. Ultimately, Prince points the reader back to God’s Word, simply showing what God revealed to His people about worship over the course of history.
